Characteristics, Uses, and Fun Facts
Foamy Bells are the result of crossing Coral Bells (Heuchera) with Foam Flowers (Tiarella). This hybrid resulted in plants with the wide variety of foliage colors found in Coral Bells, with the larger, showier flowers found in Foam Flowers.
These densely mounded perennials produces numerous sprays of white or pink flowers from spring well into summer. Breeding has produced a wide range of foliage textures including smooth, wavy, and crinkled. Foliage colors include yellows, oranges, silvers, ambers, and greens. Because they require very little water or maintenance, and because they are showy all year, Foamy Bells are great in mixed containers. They all benefit from well drained soils, partial shade and have become versatile, well-adapted plants for the Midwest garden. Heights listed are without flowers.
